Lakeland Cardiology Center is currently participating in clinical research trials. Through clinical studies, doctors find new and better ways to prevent, detect, diagnose, control, and treat illnesses. Clinical research programs allow physicians to ensure new treatments are effective and safe. Patients that are eligible and enroll in any of the offered trials provide very valuable information. Participants are carefully screened prior to being enrolled in any trial. Each individual must meet detailed criteria. Once the criteria has been met the requirements are fully explained to participants in detail. All consented patients will be closely monitored by the principal investigator along with the clinical research coordinator throughout the period of the trial.
Our principal investigator for research department is Dr. Hyeun (Tom) Park. Dr. Hyeun Park has been involved in various types of clinical research trials. His expertise in this area has provided a service that is a very important asset of patient care.
Heather Dungan RDCS, RVS is the clinical coordinator for the research program. Ms. Dungan is also the director of the cardiovascular laboratory at Lakeland Cardiology Center. She joined Lakeland Cardiology Center in 1994. Dr. Hyeun Park and Ms. Dungan work closely together to ensure effectiveness of operations in the research department.
